This year was special as Gail's Mom came out from California to volunteer at one of the rest
stops.  It had been just over a month after her breast cancer surgery.  She was a real trooper in
more ways than one, including staying in a dorm room.  In February of that year, we stayed with
Mom when we went out to Palm Springs to cycle the 100-mile Tour de Palm Springs.  So, we
wore our commemorative jerseys from that ride in her honor.

This was the first year that it was so much cooler.  Canada jerseys on day 1 were appropriate for
the cooler weather. We endured drizzle, especially on day 2.  It was a great year being a part of
Team Lamberts again, especially since our Team Photo from the previous year was part of the
promotional poster for this year's ride.
